SPARSH Digital Life Certificate Explained: Step-by-Step Guide for Pensioners

Defence pensioners must submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC) annually to ensure uninterrupted pension payments. The SPARSH Portal has made the process easier by enabling online submission, eliminating the need for physical visits.
Officials have cautioned that failure to submit the certificate within the stipulated timeline may result in a temporary halt of pension disbursement until the updated certificate is provided.
The Life Certificate, also known as Jeevan Pramaan Patra, is a mandatory document required by pension disbursing agencies such as banks and post offices. It remains valid for one year and must be renewed annually.
Pensioners can submit the certificate through multiple methods, including Aadhaar-based authentication, facial recognition, and biometric verification. The process can also be completed using the Jeevan Pramaan App for a fully digital experience.
Additionally, a manual submission option is available, where pensioners can download the form, get it attested by a gazetted officer, and submit it to the concerned department.
Authorities have advised pensioners to complete the process on time—preferably at the beginning of the financial year or during November—to avoid any disruption in pension payments.
